Finn Franchise Brokers was first established in 2004 (under the name Finn Franchising) and are widely considered the Franchise experts in Australia and beyond.  Selling more franchises than anyone else, we are proud to have established a strong presence in the franchising sector.  Holding relationships with the leading franchise brands and communicating daily with buyers, franchisees and financial institutions, Finn Franchise Brokers has experienced tremendous growth since our launch.

Our success is due partly to the huge growth in franchising over the past decade.  Australia now has more franchise outlets per capita than any other country in the world.  This sector has truly welcomed the dedicated focus of specialist franchise brokers.

Led by Directors Steve Finn and Len Ferguson, the team of franchise brokers has successfully helped hundreds of business owners sell their business; and consequently aided the same number of families in investing for the future in a franchise business.  It is rewarding and satisfying work!

"I’ve always been interested in small business. In my early years I managed retail businesses for brands such as FootLocker and also the Essendon Football Club in the AFL. I then decided in 2001 that I wanted to get involved in business sales.

I was passionate about business, I had achieved success as a salesperson, and I was keen to have my weekends with my family. I thought I was about to become a business broker – but then I discovered this huge and growing sector of small business – franchising. To my amazement, there was only one specialist franchise sales business in Australia – in my home town at the time, Melbourne. I contacted them and asked if I could come in for a chat. They didn’t have any positions available but gave me a job anyway.

On the first day I started, my knowledge of franchising and business sales was very limited. But in my new job I had a couple of excellent mentors who taught me the skills and knowledge that you’ll never find in a manual – and I saw an enormous opportunity before my eyes. Over the next couple of years I achieved some very strong results and had established myself in the franchising sector as perhaps the most successful and well-known franchise salesperson in Australia.

In 2004 my wife Donna and I made the lifestyle decision to move to Perth with our young family and I took on the daunting task of starting my own business in franchise sales. Starting from square one, I grew my business and started to develop my plans for future expansion – Finn Franchise Brokers. Then in 2005, my good friend Len Ferguson decided to take the leap himself and opened his Brisbane Finn Franchising office. Since then, together we have grown our network of contacts in the franchising sector, sold a lot of franchises, and developed our operations manuals, systems, scripts, procedures, website, online sales management system, and marketing tools to the exceptional standard we use today.

Firstly we plan to expand to service all parts of Australia. Then in the future we can clearly see an opportunity to expand our brand across New Zealand, then through the United States and Canada, all over the UK and Ireland and down through South Africa . As every new Finn Franchise Broker office opens, we further increase our strength and security. In fact, as it stands today, we have no direct competition. There are no other specific franchise brokers operating in Australia – let alone one single brand with multiple offices on the East and West Coasts of Australia like Finn Franchise Brokers.

We plan to be the dominant choice for franchisors and franchisees around the world when they are looking for a solution to selling their franchises. We’ve got a fantastic business right now and it’s so exciting to know that every year it’s just going to keep getting better and better!"  Steve Finn


Len Ferguson

"For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to run my own business. At the age of 16 I started a video store in country Victoria in partnership with another local business owner. He had empty premises - I had the idea - so it seemed like a good match. After about a year or so my family moved to Melbourne and my first business partner purchased my half of the business, and it was with the profits from this sale that I was able to buy my first car. It was this experience that shaped my strong desire to always own a business.

It wasn’t until sometime later that I experienced franchising, and I must admit that I didn’t instantly fall for this type of business model. It took some time for me to really see the benefits of franchising and how this business model really works to the advantage of all involved. The benefits of this type of business system just couldn’t be ignored. The massive growth experienced by franchising all over the world confirms my belief that we are only just experiencing the start of what will eventually dominate small business across Australia, and most of the world.
